I'd like to imagine you are talking about real footy*, but I suppose you are talking rugby. Who knows? Who cares? Rugby league is a game the ARL has prostituted out of any resemblance of the game I once knew and loved. I was born in Sydney, a Rabbitohs supporter, and saw their last two grand final wins, which almost makes me a grandfather, or old enough to be one. Now I can't be bothered to even glance at a game (unless one of the teams are wearing red and green, that is).

Well i for one having come from Tweed Heads (the border town of New South Wales and Queensland for those in the know) love State of Origin.
Star Sports carries it for the last couple of years but I don't know about this year.
Rapier you need to lay off a bit mate...what is your problem with a sporting contest???? |

No coverage this year despite it being televised all over Asia for the last 12 years that I can remember. I've watched it in places like Bangkok, Jakarta and even Calcutta. Oh yeah, *beep* it, the blues won, Phil Gould should be dragged through Brisbane behind a ute when he comes up for the next one.
Cheers

Like it, like it, like it a lot ...
But seriously, league just doesn't have enough phases or variations in strategy to interest me. It's all just give the ball to the big guy who's going to do "hard yards" "up the middle", then "spread it wide" and "break the line" ... not enough thinking involved, it's rugby with a lobotomy ... |

Shame to hear that Star Sports didn't broadcast it this year. It was a really tough intense game but lacked a little as a spectacle.. Glad though League isn't marred like union by fat unfit forwards who sit around watching fly-halfs (is that what they call them these days) slot endless penalty goals.. As to GayFL, lets not even go there..
Good to see a few posts in, I have managed to offend those from the Southern states of Australia, the Kiwis (except Warriors fans) and some Brits and South Africans.. |

so who do you support?.
As for union fowards being fat and lazy, 15 years ago maybe, nowdays they are mean machines, your average super12 front rower should run 3 k in 9-10 minutes, not bad considering the average weight would be between 105-115 kg's.
kiwiboy,
"it's rugby with a lobotomy", maybe so but that's why i like it, it's fluid, fast, not as many stoppages due to lineouts, scrums and the tendency for some union ref's to be heavy handed on the whistle. |
