Hi
Im enjoying my time here in Korea and teaching is sound enough but would be really interested in doing some more type of social work style of work as thats more what Ill probably be doing when i retun home. I wondered if anyone was doing anything they could recommend to me.

What do you define as social work ? I am sure I see it rather differently than you, coming from a hospital environment.
I assume you are referring to volunteering, community service, charity, working in an orphanage, etc ? If so, then search the forum as there are many people who do such things. Also, if you check out a site at
http://www.adventurekorea.com they also set up regular trips to orphanages around the penninsula |

That's the one I donate money to, but it's located near Taegu. I've heard that there are shelters to closer to Seoul but I don't know anything about them.

Volunteering at an orphanage is the easiest option. Ask your embassy for details, they'll send you with a buddy so you don't get swamped. |
