Has anybody heard of this place? Any recommendations? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, since there is nothing posted on this site about this school. Thanks all |

I work at a Reading town in Busan. Compared to my last Hagwon it is night and day. A really good place to work by Hogwan standards.
My biggest annoyance is the usual stuff - new policies mainly that never last or are not thought out. But overall it is about as good as a Hagwon in Korea can get.
Things like pay, insurance and pension should not even be an issue - however they will vary by franchise a bit (I assume). Overall the head office seems to maintain pretty tight control over my franchise. |

| I have a friend who works at a reading town and she really likes it. The program is pretty sound and her director is very supportive(I suppose that doesn't really matter across the board though). |

Hi All. Thanks a lot for your replies. I had an interview last night. The place sounded OK except for the fact that I would be required to work from 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM (almost 12 hours) for one month in the summer and one month in the winter Ouch! I realize that it is only for 2 months, but I think that kinda schedule would be killer, even if you do get an hour and a half for lunch. How do you current employees there do it? I think you would need more energy than an electronics salesman Anyway, thanks again for the replies. Appreciate it. |

Oh my goodness, are you talking about the intensive courses for summer and winter? Working 9:30am - 9:00pm? You poor soul!
Sorry about the sarcasm, I had to do the same thing at my school, its not that bad, you'll live through it. Sounds like overall though, you have a good hogwan. |

I never I'd generate such sarcasm over not wanting to work 12 hours a day for two months of the year. Silly me. Guess I should become more of a corparte shill and I'd lead a much happier life |

Which Reading Town? Which city?
Avoid Reading Town in Youngju. If this is where you had the interview, I will tell you more. |

Those intensive courses are killer. My school had them too. Basically, the key is making sure you make the most of that lunch break. Get out of the building and go somewhere nice. Go to bed early. And drink lots and lots of coffee. |

Reading Town sucks. It's time intensive for the teacher. Make sure that you understand the prep work involved, it can be horrendous. I do agree with not wanting to work 12 hours a day, even if only for two months. |
