I'm not talking about going to watch performances. And I'm not talking about being a dorky extra on TV. I'm talking about getting up on stage and being in a play.
I went back home for a few months and met with some old friends who happened to be theatre majors. One guy is about to wrap up his degree, so I was pushing coming to Korea onto him, and he asked if it was possible for him to continue doing shows in Korea. I really didn't know how to answer that, and started to get curious and interested myself...but I have no idea where to look for stuff.
Does anyone do any acting for stage here? Or know where you can go for tryouts? Or know of any acting groups that I can get in contact with? |

Quit being so pedantic, Maxxx...
Zyz, the best thing I can tell you is to look at the Seoul Classifieds and try to get in contact with th Seoul Players. They have workshops and plays constantly happening. The only thing is, they are a real bitch to get in contact with (self-absorbed actors! Hmmm...go figure!) I know that The Beaver has also mentioned something about knowing someone in the group, so you might want to PM him as well and see what he can do.
So...try that. |

I also bet that if you fought in the revolutionary war you'd have had a reversable coat with British colors on one side and colonialist colors on the reverse. |

Google Results 1 - 10 of about 40,000,000 for THEATRE
Google Results 1 - 10 of about 42,800,000 for THEATER
theoretically theater doesn't really have a much bigger weenie that theatre after all... maybe its inflated by ego anyways |

To answer your question. I was in an irish play a couple of months ago in Yaksu. That was done by BH productions directed by Bernard Hughs. He runs the group. I think he is planning another production for the fall....
Another company is Seoul players. They recently wrapped up Cosi, an australian play. There are two english theatre companies... not a lot to choose from. If your friend can read, he may have a shot.

I'll check out Seoul Players through the net...but do you have any info on contacting BH Productions?
Thanks for the advice. |
