| The old Denny's in Myong-dong was great. Nothing like Denny's back home. |

Denny's was the hangout of the proletariat back in the days. Surly waitresses, bottomless coffee, cigarette burns on the carpet, yesterday's fries wedged in between the pleather cushions, lighting that somehow managed to absorb light rather than distribute it?
The place simply oozed character. And the characters there simply oozed.
Of course Korea will slaughter the ambience, the menu, and everything else that was cool and good about this icon of American heathenism. |

| Denny's in the US serves breakfast all day. I eat the Super Slams at night all the time. That's one of the FEW things I missed about the US. |

| Denny's not a place you go to but a place you end up at. |

...after searching Fairbanks (for 5 minutes) for a restaurant that's open past midnight in the summer. It's something I've never quite figured out: at 1 am the sun has just set, children are out riding their bikes and families are out taking an evening stroll, but the only places open to eat are Denny's and the Drive-thru at Taco Bell. |
