I am about ready to sign a contract for a job in Miryang (I already asked here about that town, thanks for all those who responded). When I spoke to the director this evening, he told me that there are 30 korean teachers, and I will be the only foreign teacher. Is this odd or common? The school has been around for 10 years, and this guy's been the director for all 10, so I think its run pretty well. I was just suprised at how many koreans vs. foreign teachers there are.
thanks again for ya'lls help.

To vote I would need more information. Are the Korean teachers only teaching English? There are many large schools, such as Jongro M School, which mainly teach math, science, Korean, and English grammar. They have a small section of teachers which actually use spoken English in the classroom.
If the school only teaches English, then I'd say the ratio is a little odd. |

Had a mate worked in Miryang, can't rememeber the school, but his accomodation was above the school and was disgusting. Director was a cretin, lasted 3 months and pulled the pin. Not to many foreigners in town. The ratio seems out of wack, unless its an Ipshi that offers English as a supplemental subject. |
