We have all heard the rumours of teachers sacking away this kind of coin or more. Just wondering how many people are actually doing it and how they are doing it. |

I don't think it is legally possible while working as a hagwon teacher. |

College teachers who also teach summer classes can make 4 million a month for four months of the year. Most fly off to thailand and don't however. |

I was making close to that at my university gig. I was contracted for 15 hours per month, but did double time at the language institute on campus.
I did about 20 hours per week there all at overtime rates. (25,000/Hr)
It was sweet for 3 years, but a lot of work.
Salad days, man. |

umm...4 million won translates to about $3500. it's a shame if you've got a college education and have been working for a while to still "shoot" to make that much.
there are so many opportunities, especially in the U.S. why kill yourself to make 2 million won a month? |

Because you can easily live off 800,000 won a month and you can bank the rest. If I wanted to put in the overtime and do the extra classes available and work during my semester breaks I could average saving over 3 million a month. That's 36 million a year and that's much more than any of my friends back home can save despite making more money than I do. |

sakamuras,
You are missing the point.
Out of that 3500 an teacher here can save 2800 per month...
You try that back home...best of luck. |

You forget. "sakamuras" is some kind of superman, who pulls seven figures a year from investments or some such. |

But, he does not get to live in Korea. I could live anywhere. I like Korea.
He also is not getting free housing and paying much higher taxes. |

It is legally possible if you want to work hours that basically add up to two jobs.
I just got an offer for 4 million but the hours were sick. Seven days a week, like 3pm-midnight.
No. I didn't take it. |

I am currently in the U.S. and have been unable to find all those opportunities. Exactly where are they? I strongly suspect you are full of it and that your post is a troll, but I encourage you to prove me wrong by giving a convincing answer to my question! |

Exactly.
Very few foreigners can legally earn so much. Most foreigners earn less than 2.5 million won each month. |
