Have you had "spoiled pickled radishes"?
The Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) on Thursday disclosed the names of food companies which used stuffing made from spoiled pickled radishes, urging consumers to watch out for five brands which are still left circulating in the market.
The revelation came after the nation was shocked by the food safety scandal involving local dumpling manufacturers discovered to have used rotten ingredients during the last five years, jeopardizing public health.

What about kimchee. Kimchee is essentially rotten cabbage and\or vegetables. |

And you would explain American companies using floor scraps in food how? Do some checking into Western processed food activities.
Your comment is simple and bias at best. Racist at worst.
Try: Most people will do anything for money- so this is no shock at all...

I don't see any reason why I should trust food "manufacturers". I try to eat as little processed food as possible. Now I am going to strike mandu off my list.
I taught English for a while to the president of a food flavorings company in Mexico City (they sell most of their products to the U.S.) I asked him why they needed to manufacture "ham" flavoring. He told me the cheap stuff is only 10 percent ham, the rest is filler. He said that paper- newsprint and woodpulp-is used in addition to a lot of other things. He seemed totally comfortable with this.
I'm planning to learn how to make mandu when I return. The seem to be the same as Chinese won ton, which I have made. |
