Going to Dandong on the 28th for some twelve days...for those who don't know, Dandong is right across the river from Shinuiju, North Korea. Any requests? I have a free schedule so I can do anything. Will probably do a lot of walking, talking and looking. Hopefully I'll find some North Koreans to talk to as I'm intensely curious what they really think like.
By the way, here's some North Korean Korean for anybody who's interested:
Ice Cream (̽ ũ) -
Bra () - (ie, breast holder)
Record (ڵ) - Ҹ (sound board)
Magma () - (rock water)
and about a million others on this site here:

Anyway, back to the topic: any requests? Or ideas if you wish... |

Oh, I really want to go there some day! I have always been attracted to the mystique of Manchuria and then when I researched the area, and considered coming to Korea, I was intrigued at the lack of information on the lives of Koreans who still speak their language and cook their spicy food in the regions near North Korea.
I'd love to hear about it when you return. Sounds like you have the time and inclination to talk to the local Koreans thereabouts, instead of just just moving about quickly with cameras like tourists do, picturing everything but noticing little.
Have a good trip! |

I got my ticket today. For anybody who's curious, the company that does all these ferry boats to China and the near vicinity is in the Choheung Bank building right out exit #11 at City Hall. One ticket costs 115 000 each way, plus a

departure tax.
I know what you mean about tourists that move about taking pictures and really seeing very little. I'll be there for 12 days and my goal is to try to know as much about the city as possible. I would love to know that place like the back of my hand, much better than flitting about here and there and absorbing very little. |

I hate CHina. Lived in Hong Kong for 17 years and never felt the need to go to China.
They are a weird people who still thrive on Communism (spl).
Just trying to keep their ego |
