OK call me nuts but I volunteered to teach a public elementary class this morning (saturday) because I miss the young ones from my hagwon days. 30 bright-eyed, cute, & innocent 8-year-olds. They were so eager! I'm still wearing a big grin & look forward to doing it again in a couple weeks.

I wonder how much they charged the parents.

I know I'm cynical. I've been here too long.

Schwa, I expect to feel as you do when I eventually give up the hagwon for university teaching. The children aged 8-10 are great, IMO2, for their energy and sheer joy.

Dutchman, as long as Shwa is using the experience for the once-in-a-long-while fun of it, why does it matter?

It sounds like shwa got exactly what he wanted out of it.

Free, unadvertised, I took over at the behest of a special ed teacher who also volunteers her english expertise. Just for fun. Elementary schools here are very relaxed & pleasant.
