Maybe there should be a thread for every asinine English grammar misunderstanding of "teachers" in Korea.
It is astounding that there are teachers here who believe (a) that the verb "to get" has no past tense; and (b) there is no first person singular object pronoun in English.
Even as a troll, this is not funny. |

Every language bends its own rules. Saying "It's me." is perfectly acceptable in spoken English.
The Italians do not use their first person object pronoun in this fashion. Their equivalent of Its me. Is Sono io., literally I am I.
However they have no problem using their first person plural object pronoun ci(us) when saying their equivalent of Here we are.* saying Ecco ci qua! I cant quite translate that one literally. But who cares? I know what they mean and thats that.
Thus ends Leslies pedantic rant of the day.
*translated literally Qui siamo noi. |

My username comes from "Neuromancer' by William Gibson.
The Panther Moderns were mercenaries for hire but took their jobs as elaborate practical jokes. I see the Korean ESL industry as an elaborate practical joke thus I do not take my own posts too seriously and rail against those who do.
