How important is it to see pictures of the school and/or accomodations before you take a job in Korea (if you're applying from outside Korea)?

Should I insist on this? Or is it just a nice plus if they can provide them?

I know I am an extreme newbie to all this stuff, but you guys seem to be quite knowledgeable and I hope you can help me out Very Happy

Pictures are nice but an honest e-mail from a foreigner currently working there is gold.

I agree. An e-mail from a current teacher is best.

One thing to ask is whether it has air-con - coz it's hot and getting hotter!

Not all the schools will have pictures ready to give out to new teachers and the housing can change every year as well. Housing here is usually a hit and miss. Don't expect too much and don't take a hole in the wall. I say as long as it's clean and have heat and could be cooled then I say you're good.

Any hagwon should have a digital camera. They need constant footage of "all the fun". No sweat.

The former teacher advice is good.

I doubt you will see a picture of your apartment and if they really wanted to they could take a picture of any apartment, what are you going to do once you get here???

Best advice is to come over and check it yourself before you sign any contract. Thats what i did so i knew there would be minimal risks and it worked out well.
