I think I saw a post about this but couldn't locate it.
I played a DVD for the first time on my Combo (LG-48x24x48x). A window popped up saying which region would I like to play? It said I have five times to change the region preference. Isn't there something I can do about this? |
That's just the software. Download a different player. |

Somebody once posted a link to a download that just resets the count on your region changes back to zero; It sounded simple and idiot-proof- anybody happen to have that link? |

If you PM me your e-mail address I can e-mail DVD Region-Free to you ... it's about 1 MB in size
Or you can download it via the net, bittorrent, emule, edonkey, kazaa, etc |

If you really want to do properly, you can flash your DVD-ROM with a hacked version firmware that will make your DVD-ROM region free and will play anything.
If you are not comfortable with doing this, DONT! You do so at your own risk. I have done mine successfully several times, but you need to know what you are doing. There are full instructions on the site:

Unfortunately not all DVD-ROM's can be flashed. Mine for instance cannot. When you cannot hack your hardware then play with software ... |

Firmware is the only real answer to make your dvd region free but if I were you, I would wait until all of your region changes are used up. I heard that they will start to make discs that can detect firmware and make it impossible for you to read them. If you firmware your drive, it is permanent, and sometimes risky as well. Be careful and think about it before you apply this fix. |

Be careful, you should confirm that this programme supports the OP's hardware before recommending DVD Region Free, otherwise, it will fry the patched drive. |

That app does work on most drives, and there is no risk in trying it out. |
