Posco's Trumpet, Beaver, and Urban Myth obviously have trouble reading... they thought the original poster was asking them to be unfriendly, sarcastic, and just plain rude. I think the op was putting this here for an opportunity for those who wanted to meet up with others... next time, you feel like being negative about something that might be good for others, start a new thread. For example, "Why I am too good to meet other ESLers." I and the rest of us who disagree with you will gladly ignore it....
For the record.. in seoul.. open to hanging out in the evenings, or on weekends when I am not travelling.... oh.. and I am suprisingly friendly... |

| I'm in Bundang, at Sunae Plaza. Still waiting for Tibby to admit that he's just fawning to meet me. |

You aren't considering the myriads of other possibilities that could explain our behaviour.
Basically, it's this. I'm an introvert who can function as an extrovert but as a general rule I don't need all that much contact with people and meeting people, while fun, is draining.
Extroverts, on the other had, get energy from being with other people and hence seek out opportunities to meet.
I think posco, myself, and urban were being lighthearted rather than rude. |

I do that allready
But on a smaller scale.
I take the newbies at my school out for the first few week-ends they are here and to dinner during the week in the beginning.
The directors of other schools in my area have taken to send their newbies my way too.
Its pretty cool...except when they ask on sundays because that is my Jangi morning with the old dudes in the park and my afternoon to take my nieces to the park, beach..ect... |

You need a better thread title, Welcome We Waeguks makes the acromym WWW which sounds likes it's going to be some kind of web address. If you call it Welcome Oh Waeguks you get WOW! Which had a bit more zing to it dont you think? |

I was being rude. I don't like people in general, but feel a special contempt for those who feel a need to create excuses to meet socially.
Satisfied, Not?
(or would you prefer Satisfied, Mr Not? Satisfied, Ms Not? Satisfied, Miss Not? Satisfied, Mrs Not? Satisfied, Angry? Satisfied, Mr Angry? Satisfied, Ms Angry? Satisfied, Miss Angry? Satisfied, Mrs Angry? Satisfied, Not Angry? Satisfied, Mr Not Angry? Satisfied, Ms Not Angry? Satisfied, Miss Not Angry? Satisfied, Mrs Not Angry? Should I use some other form of address? I would so hate to disappoint you. ) |

How is it I that have the LD? Your post doesn't make the least bit of sense or have any point of reference (save, I don't think anyone from here will be inviting you out for drinks anytime soon ). I, however, won't make snide remarks about your IQ. Beaver... fair enough.... Posco... didn't know I had asked for you to refer to me in any particular way...... Actually after reading your posts, I think it is best that you dont' meet other people.. stay safely behind your computer.
Again I have to say.. if you aren't interested in meeting other people through here... then don't... but don't mock people who are... how does that help you or them? |

Don't know much about grammar, do you? does Posco's = Posco?
I know it might be too much to expect the civility I offered you (by asking how you would like to be addressed), but a bit of thought might leave you looking a bit ... better educated? |

Posco's Trumpet,
Here I thought that you looked condescending and petty. But since you have done it yet again (looking petty that is) you have made that clear. Don't call yourself civil, when clearly you are not attempting to be so. I am also amazed that you have the ability to judge my education based on two posts and my improper use of your name. (Intentional BTW) That is amazing... and quite pathetic that you have resorted to slandering someones education on a completely ludicrous basis. |

So where are the Suwon mates? I'm new in town but not to Korea.
I know from his posts that Fonz is in Suwon currently. Anyone PM for a hook-up.
 |
I hook up with some non-Dave's people there once in a while. I haven't been out with them in a few months but I don't imagine they'd mind another person joining them. Where are you in Suwon? They're all in the north by Songyungwandae. |
