All Korean companies that deal with any kind of internet access or phone service or cable, do this. When there is a monopoly in Korea, they do not care about customer service in Korea (or even back home for that matter).
I wrote a long post a while back about customer service here in Korea dealing with our credit card company. To sum it up, how can a major credit card company only have customer service reps available M-F from 8-6??????
When I first came to Korea a few years ago this is the type of thing that just drove me mad (one of the many stages of a foreigner living in Korea). Here you must adapt and do as the Koreans do. Just grin and bear it.

Do as Koreans do?
"Korea's suicide rate has significantly jumped in the last twenty years, as more people are facing mounting social problems, such as the economic downturn and high unemployment," a Ministry of Health and Welfare official said.

Do you have nothing better to do? "Here" means in this situation. I sure hope you don't teach English... |

Chiaa, don't sweat it, this is Real Realities forte. He spends most of his free time searching for irrelevant trivia on the net to link to this site. I don't recall ever seeing any posts by him that refected even a semblance of his own original thinking.
He likes to try to match these stories of his with other posts to try to prove to everyone how inferior Koreans and the Korean way of life is. In this case, it seems like he is trying to show us that life here is so bad that everyone is committing suicide, in this case over bad service?!. How ingeniously moronic! [/b] |

A friend of mine got KTF. Had the same problem didn't show up on time. Took 3 or 4 times to finally get it done. Happened on a Sunday by the way. She complained and a few days later got an iron in the mail. Funny. Also, hasn't been charged since. Lucky bastard. Me I got Thru net. Came exactly when they said they would and the one time I had a problem they were out and fixed it in about 2 hours. Unfortunetely they deduct regularly from my bank account.
Thru-net - 1588-3488 press 7 for an english operator. or you can try in Korean like I did the first time.... after a few minutes of frustration they will transfer you... |
