I'm planning on going to the Boryeoung Mud Festival in July. I want to go up on the opening night of the 16th and stay over night then go home late on the Saturday.

My question is the love motels there? Or do I have to make reservations at one of the tourst spots?

oh here is the website if this is the first time you have heard about this

An excuse to roll around in the mud and act like an 8 year old?

I am so there.

Not sure exactly, but it's on the West Coast. Last year I went there. It is about 1.5-2.0 hours from Cheongju or Cheonan. That would make it a 2.5-3 hour trip for you.

It is a pretty fun time. Lots of money, lots of beer... good times.

I didn't reserve and paid W70,000 for a minbak with no bed for four people on the Saturday of the mud festival last year. My friend made a reservation and paid the same for an aircon room with a queen sized bed in a yogwan. I would call ahead. Prices more than double on that weekend.

I'm holding out for the "Air festival", the "Pebble festival", the "Lint festival", the "Wall festival" and finally, the "Screen door festival". Those will be doozies.

Sheesh...mud festival.... Rolling Eyes

So there's beer, expensive rooms, and mud. Anything that's actually nifty?

Thanks for reminding me! I still have pictures of last year's mud festival in my camera. Better finish up that roll soon.

It was a good time...but it would have been better if I had gone with a few more/different people than I did...

OK I have checked out the travel arrangements and it says I have to go through Cheonan then to Daecheon. Is this just because I am in Gwangju or do ppl coming from Seoul have to also go through Cheonan?
