is it true that kids in Asia study martial arts practically before they walk? I want to get back into some kind of martial arts but I havent done anything in 7 years. Is there a martial art school in Icheon and if so will it be filled with kids who can seriously kick my butt? I really want to get back into it but not at the price of having my pride wounded by an anklebiter... |

If I were you I'd be more worried about getting your ass "Ddim Chimed" rather than kicked.
What's ddim chim? Face away from a child and you'll find out REAL fast. May I recommend a chastity belt? |

I couldn't resist:
"ddim chim" - Here's what you do: put your hands together, lacing all your fingers except for your two index fingers, then walk up behind an unsuspecting victim and thrust your fingers as hard as you can up their arse.
The literal translation of ddim chim is "arsehole acupuncture" and is carried out by both male and female students on either sex of teacher
Yeah - Asians are a wee bit strange.
I've got a couple of teacher friends here and they says it's the bane of their lives and no matter how much they shout at the kids they'll still have a go if you're not paying attention or picking something up off the floor.
Hopefully I won't have to deal with this when teaching adults, but then again who knows! |

No. They don't uually start until about 8 to 10 years old and it is a bit on the decline in popularity.
You'd be lucky to get any kid to stop playing a computer game nowadays |

Ummm....I may be wrong, as I have never taken the time to actually research it, but isn't it "" "Dong jip" (the "" sounds a bit like an "" with nothing after it) or "p0o house"?
I realise that "" is large intestine, but perhaps some kiddy slang? |

Don't fear about getting your arse handed back to you on a plate, it won't happen.
It's just a common view from the outside that really, is quite far from the truth.. :)
Just watch the 6 o'clock from incoming bogeys (read: pokes from the little grommets) and you'll be fine.

ħ is "ddong chim" or "poop needle"
is "ddong jip" or "poop home" aka, anus.
߶ is "dalk ddong jip" or "chicken anus" and is served in many Korean restaurants. |

pffft even if kids do practice martial arts all the time, it's probably only Tae Kwon Do. TKD does not a fighter make. My instructor back in Canada used to call it the Partial Art hehe I love that joke.
But speaking of martial arts. Any foreigners around that train together? It would be kinda cool to start a group to get together every few weeks for a workout somewhere. Would likely be difficult to get everyone together though. And then where would we train? =\ |

Wasn't it already explained to you several times that while that is the literal translation, it actually refers to the chicken's gizzard? |

If you ever get your butt kicked by a 5-year-old in any country you should hit the gym and join the Taekwondo club. |
