The OP is forgetting something...
Everyone single one of the places that you mentioned were in korea LONG before "these soldiers" came to korea! Prostitution, massage places, etc....
it is not a soldier thing. In fact, these places were in korea before any white man came to korea! They were know as something different back then but still the same.
The RED areas, (red light districts) do not allow non koreans as "customers." You can go to ANY city in korea that does not have a U.S. military base and find the same things! |

| As a rule of thumb though, anything with two spinning poles outside offers the extras. |

If you walk into the wrong place, then walk right out again. It's really very simple. If you go into a barber shop which provides these services, you don't have to take them, just get your haircut (you have to ask for the extra services - I've been to those barbers and just had my haircut). Massage, Itaewon, that place above Burger King, or in the larger bath houses (as it is non sexual, I assume you'd rather have a man massage you), night clubs? I think it's pretty easy to tell.
It is simple.

I think everyone knows that fancy guy, that soldiers didn't invent prostitution, however, some of these establishments do like to place themselves close to military bases. It's just marketing. Nobody is saying US soldiers are the the only customers, relax, chill. The OP forgot nothing, he is aware that there are quite a lot of sexual services available near army bases, same anywhere. |

I can't tell which places you go to for a nice cup of coffee with your friends and which are places that all the soldiers on the nearby korean army base go to for coffee girls, which places with rotating polls are really barbers shops, what are bars and what are room salons, which night clubs are basically venues for russian strippers and which aren't, and I can't even begin to think about where I'd want to go if all I wanted was a good massage. The only thing that isn't confusing is the Love Motels since I have a good idea about them since my boss have stuck me in one for a few weeks (well its new and clean and the walls are plenty thick...).
Poor waygooks confused by all the euphemisms who don't especially want to get involved with prostitution: yet another reason for legalization...

Based on all the English mistakes that i have bolded - and Italic'd - you are korean aren't you??? exactly what are you asking????
- keep it illegal- that way only foreigners and "company businessmen" use it - legalise it and you will have middle/high school boys using it....

I had a few early and full on experiences with prostitution..no more.
I hate the whole scene of it. I feel bad for all those involved. I don't have any great philosophical arguments as to wether its right or wrong. Just a feeling of sadness, emptiness... |

I could be wrong but I think the OP was talking about Korean soldiers.
