Rhetorical questions aside, we both have to rely on what we have heard from others in the profession. From what I have heard/read it seems that most hagwons are not real acadamies and are not interested in real teachers. Keeping the parents happy is a priority and not teaching English.
While my hagwon is bad I have heard about many others that are much worse (even though I can hardly imagine it).
