Growing up in America we aren't taught much about Canada.

Yesterday my hagwon calls me and says "Where are you"? (adjumma writing teacher) I reply "Well you called me at home so where do you think I am"? There is a pause...Then shes says Mr._____told me to call you and let you know you have a class at 3pm. I said I'll be there in 30 minutes. I get to the hagwon and they hand me a book "Canada Today".
I said uhh...ok. I asked if there was a copy for the student...No. Do I have to make copies...Yes. (It's a thick book) Rolling Eyes

Maybe with that book you can pass the Canadian citizenship test?

Can I borrow that when you're done? Embarassed And no you don't have to make a copy of it for me. Razz

Ok ok...so how is the book? Is it actually informative or is it like "The Canadian flag has a maple leaf...can you say maple leaf?" sorta deal?

Well, maple trees have always had sap and hockey has always been the best game around. We didn't invent them, we just brought self-evident truths into the light.

Strange isn't it? But knowledge is just a little reading away!

I think I know more about the US than Canada. In Korea we still hear about the US every day. Canada? Might as well be Norway! I didn't know about the elections until a few days ago. Had not heard of Harper. have no idea who Martin is. Didn't hear of "Nunavut" until a year or more after it was created. Still at a loss whenever people ask me anything about Canadian history. American history, I know a little.

Anyway Canada is not the player the US is. Obviously. Still it is good to know your neighbors. But the world these days... many people don't know their neighbors.

Just teach them about America and change the names. It's more or less the same thing. Cool

The truth about how Canadians discovered maple syrup.

A bunch of drunken Canucks were out licking frozen trees in winter.....picture it....all of them stuck to the trees by their tongues....mumbling to each other...

Taththe thweet...yath...we thould do thomething

And thus a Canadian legend was born.

Oh yeah I AM CANADIAN!
