Well, as my 2 job offers, seem to want me to comit but wont tell me exactly what I am committing to,
What about this....
Return as tourist, get apartment.... then find my way from there.
There seems to be alot of part time jobs, find one that will get me a visa, and I am sure 2 of those is better than 1 shitty ass full time....
Do alot of people do this?
what are the problems?
what are benefits?
What about getting an apartment.... I have the capital, figure i could free up like 10 million.... for key money etc..........
Ideas??? |

I did this after my first year. I found a good budongsan who helped me find a 20pyong 2 bedroom apartment. 1 million deposit, 350,000/mnth. Went to the appliance markets to by a cheap fridge, burner, and washer. Went to the furniture market to buy cheap furniture and had them move it all in.
Averaged 3-3.5/mnth on privates for about 6 months, until my tourist visa came up again.
I was recently offered a sweet gig in Kangnam, so I'm selling my stuff and giving my privates and apartment to another teacher, while I move up to Seoul and do a 6 month gig.
I know lots of people in Daegu doing the private, self-sufficient lifestyle. As for Seoul? Pfffff....who knows how many. |

If you happen to have a friend that doesn't mind and happens to have a 2 bedroom apartment, you could maybe organise to give them some contribution for the use.
Even post on the board, what harm could it do?
Maybe this is a little far fetched, but if it's just until you find a job + apartment, not for too long, a lot of people wouldn't mind.
If you're planning on a year, it would have to save you money at least.
If your planning on a long hall, with privates it might be different.
Seems like a lot of trouble to get stuff that could be provided. . |

I'm moving to Seoul as of Sunday, and would be happy to help you get set up. From recruiting in Daegu for the past 1.5 yrs, I've set up a lot of private teachers before. I don't have the same amount of contacts in Seoul as I do in Daegu, but I can advise you on how to go about things and point you in the right directions. |

I was. Sold my share to my Korean partner. Just signed a contract with a company in Kangnam. I'd like to have a year of reliable and steady earnings for a change. |
