Crowds of people having umbrella wars as we try to pass eachother...
Can you tell me...somedays when you forget your umbrella are you tempted to wrap yourself around a Korean...i.e. double up?
I mean how many people can they fit under one umbrella? |

Forgot my umbrella once, one girl came to share hers with me and walked with me to where I was going |

Morons who crowd around the subway stairs to stay dry. God forbid people actually want to enter/exit the station. |

The pokey ends of the umbrella spines all sticking out at my eye level since I'm taller than most Koreans. Always afraid of loosing an eye on umbrella day. |

It falls little by little, not in one thick sheet.
That and it's so wet. |

It get's all over my apartment floor because they were too cheap to put proper windows in this building.
After the rain stops, it's way too humid.
When it rains too much, my shoes fill up with water. |

that every fricking staircase in korea is made out of this polished granite or whatever and there's absolutely no traction provided whatsoever. the water on it makes it slicker than any curling surface i've ever seen (i'm not canadian...i haven't seen that many curling matches, but still...)
don't ask me how many times i've fallen on my ass. my bruises are still healing. |

Someone's bound to mention that the humidity causes laundry to smell.
What gets me are those adjummas with the parasols. Even when it's cloudy they have 'em open.

I don't have much experience with umbrellas. Never needed them much back home. First time using one here I ripped three edges off (not sure how to fix 'em), could not keep it closed (handle would open up and smack me right in the gut), and when I did open it up, I happened to do so at the perfect height for one of the edges to poke me in the eye. That one hurt. |
