Is there anything else a foreigner can do in Korea except(sp?) teaching. I read about people having gf/bf from different countries like China, Malaysia etc. I dont think these people are here teaching English so there must be something else we can do. I would like to know from those people already in Korea if they know any opportunities for a foreigner. Maybe a part time job or something that will allow me to stay there for a long time.

There are many choices.

Many (if not most) will require that you speak Korea (kind of a basic requirement here).

Many people on this very board do something other then teaching.

I do part-time consulting for companies wishing to do business here in Korea for example.

Myself, Kangnamdragon, sparkx, Homer, chronicpride, tsgarp, mankind...these are just a few off the top of my head that do work other then teaching. It really depends on so many things- like language ability and your skill set. What are you good at?

Well I will get a ba in computer science. I know that that industry is full and is very competitive even for Koreans but I was thinking some smaller jobs like some part times. I wouldnt exclude a job in IT but that seems too far for a foreigner. I cant speak Korean but I know that is a prerequisite so I will study it a bit before I leave. Homer how did you get into your business. What things did you need to do or know before you started. I would also like to hear from the others what they do and how they got there.
