				| Gladiator I have stories like that too. Koreans don't want their dirty laundry aired in public, and will do anything to hide the shame it might bring. Still very much the hermit kingdom mentality. Was at an English Camp last summer, and was talking to one of our Korean co-teachers who had lived in Chicago for a long time. Anyway
she brought up the point of how it's standard poractice in Korea for married adults in their mid 30's to mid 40's to have affairs. She was quite blaise about, and said it happened as a matter of course. She asked what we thought of it. I said nothing but another foreign co-reacher from Ireland said he didn't believe that sort of thing happened in in his country. Anyway I brought this topic up with some korean Adults who expressed shock and and dissbelieif. When i mentioned where and whom I heard it from, They just said Oh yes, and left it at that. Tried very hard to hide the truth, but when confronted with some more truthful details the denial stopped. S.O.B's. Why the hell don't they just open up, and forget the shame.

The guys that read your departure card don't card at all what you are doing. They are more concerned about the Alien Registration Card than a teacher doing a runner. Even then, I doubt that they care all the much.
The only thing that can prevent you from leaving would be a warrant out for your arrest or criminal charges pending on you. The hagwon director and his power is so small in the grand scheme of things.

Though, I guess it is possible to be stopped at one of the smaller airports. At Incheon I would deem it near impossible.

Today I just renewed my contract. All of us have the same contract. It says on it, if we want to leave the country before out contract expires, we first need to fill out a Permission to Leave Form. Because the contracts are 12 months long, that would mean anytime we wanted to leave, we need the University's permission. I have to check to see if it was also on last years contract.

 | I don't think they have any way of enforcing that. Just sounds like a silly scare tactic.

				| What that means is they don't get you the multiple entry visa. When you go to get your E-2 stress you want a Mulitiple entry visa...depending on where your from it's an extra fee. Aemericans get it automatically. | |

I just checked. Last year's contract is the same as the new one. I must get permission from the school, not immigration, to leave the country.
