Apparently it used to grow wild all over the place on the Peninsula a la Nepal. Yup, over in tham thar hills. Students told me. Mrs Skinny is not convinced that it was the good stuff though. Just a non THC strain she says. Anyone know?

Hmmmm, maybe that's where the idea of 'the morning calm' came from. "'Scuse me Hee Sang me ol' mate, while I light up a 'morning calm'. " Cool

Don't even get me started...I came from the border of BC/Alberta (which is renowned for its bud) to this place...i feel like I'm missing my left arm without the MJ. Sad

Hemp used to grow all over Korea, not big, hairy buds. They used it largely for clothing and rope...the standard uses for hemp, as it's a very strong, fibrous plant.

As far as them smoking weed, I haven't a clue. The conditions are near perfect for growing, and it is a native species here. I was told some time ago by a professor of botany that one can still find it growing wild on the remote mountains.

As far as why people bring it in...well, 250 million is a nice sum of money, so I can see them being blinded. The rewards are great here; the prices are very high and thus the profit margin is huge.

Hemp is still grown in the rural areas. I remember watching a KBS special on it in 2001 or 2002 about growing hemp in Chunchon Province, where most of the local had no idea about the alternate uses of it. However a few of the local kids did as the owners had to check the fields at night for youths trying to steal some. I wonder about the quality (potency) of it though.
