Not equal at all... my guess is that a clipped guy can probably feel more than the unsnipped. But deadening a girl's appetite is just wrong.

Me... I'm nicely trimmed down there. No complaints so far.

I've heard people say that the snip is good because it lessens sensitivity giving the man more "stamina", but never that it would give more feeling- I don't see how you can come up with that.

Anyway I'm happy with my turtle-neck.

From what I know in Australia, circumcision was the norm up until the 70s when there was a shift and now circumcision is largely frowned upon. I'd guess roughly 50% of the male population are circumcised and 50% not.

As for whether I carry a helmet or a hose, my folks were (for whatever reason) in favour of circumcision, hence my little soldier is helmeted.

Buried in this article is a reference to pre-adolescent circumcision in Korea, though I daresay the writer has the reasons for the procedure wrong.

It's a strange case and I wouldn't want to imply that all boys who get sliced at twelve will become sociopaths, but I do believe it'd be a traumatic experience for anyone. If you're going to do it to your kid, do when they're an infant, for chrissakes.

Porn, Guns and God

An Aside:
Funny, too, how when a Korean person is murdered overseas it seems to make the news here in the ROK. But, when a Korean is suspected of doing the killing, well, that's not newsworthy.

Shocked

Hell, I just get nervous when my kids have scissors... cause that's right at eye level for them.

Uncircumcised male genitals are unhygenic? Rolling Eyes Is circumcision such a wonder procedure that you don't have to wash your penis after getting it done?

Touchy Touchy. Don't get uppity with me with your fancy emoticons just because you have a cro-magnon tubesteak. It's not my fault your parents were flower children, or astrology following new-agers.

I don't have a flap of skin covering my phallus which traps disease, fungus, insects, pestilence, and all sorts of grime fit for a science journal. The fact that mine is easier to properly disinfect makes it more hygenic.

Of course I wash my genitalia, I just don't have to use a wire brush and salad tongs to pull back a curtain of flesh just to remove the roach eggs.

I'm still not convinced. I still think it is a misguided cultural belief.

Although some people need their appendix taken out, I've never heard of a person with a foreskin dying because they didn't get it chopped off.

Why cut something that doesn't need cutting?

That being said, I wouldn't be traumatized if my parents had done it to me.

I certainly won't get it done to my kid.

The majority of us guys here (not all, admittedly) have no interest in dabbling with other board members' furbearing flesh cucumbers so who cares?

(forgive me for jumping in on what is clearly a male subject here) But while I agree the medical benefits of circumcision might not actually exist, where's the harm? Especially if it's done when you're a baby and you don't remember?

Plus, honestly, I think it looks better.

Do you think if there was some kind of surgery that women could have performed on their genitals that had no concrete benefits, but looked more attractive to men, it would be popular?

Um...boob jobs anyone?

Not as popular as circumcision, but a similar idea. I think if it were as easy and safe to get a boob job as it was to get circumcised, a lot of women would do it.

Most of the time their parents were dirty hippies or "earthy" wierd types, you know the ones, they feed their babies echinacea and believe in the healing powers of crystals.

"Hey, there goes Jimmy. He's a cool enough guy but I hear he's got an uncircumsized johnson."

"What a freak"

I've got to be honest, I've lived in the States almost all my life. I have taken many showers in large group situations (after football or baseball games, camps, etc.), and I have never once heard anyone criticized for not being "altered". And yes, there were a few fellows that weren't snipped.

I have never heard of anybody mocked because they were uncircumcised. Apparently the Clown's friends were much more cruel than mine were.

As for me, I'm snipped. Really doesn't bother me one way or the other for two reasons: 1) I don't remember it, and 2) not a whole lot I can do about it now. If I ever have a son, I'll leave it alone and let him decide when he gets old enough.

As for hygeine, if a guy is too lazy to take about 5 seconds to give the old chief a complete rub down, then he's got bigger problems.

I am 99.9% sure that that guy was joking/being sarcastic. I've never heard of anyone being given that much grief about it either.
