If I fly to Korea to look for work, what kind of flight should I get...one way, round trip, and how far off should my return flight be? If I go on a tourist visa and a one way could I be turned back? Do I tell them at immigration when I land that I'm looking for work?

I am eligible for an F-2 visa - can I get that processed here or do I wait until I am in Korea? My wife is in Korea already so I'm guessing we'll have to do it there. I'm actually looking for a flight soon as we just got married in June and I'm not interested in spending another month or two away from her. If so, I may be paying more for my flight than an employer will be willing to reimburse (on Expedia I'm looking at about $2200). How much can I expect them to reimburse in such a case?

since your wife is in korea and you only have a visitors visa, you need to purchase a roundtrip ticket. purchase a ticket which you can get a refund for the unused portion. it might cost more but you can always refund the back half. the schools will usually cover up to 1,000,000 won for your ticket out to korea from Canada. best of luck.

Why not get the F2 at home, then come here?

How do I go about doing that? I've seen a lot of posts about getting an F-2 while in Korea but not in Canada.

I had a one-way ticket, and at immigrations in Seoul I just told them I was going to search for a job and get an E-2 visa. They let me though. I had been there a year and just finished a different contract though. I had taken a 1 month trip home and was returning from that.
