Next time you get criticised for shaking your leg, say it's good for your health. They're was a study that was done with Native Americans (in New Mexico if I remember correctly) on the effects of moving while siting. In that particular nation, there was a high incidence of obesity because their bodies were adapted to storing energy because they lived in a region where there are long periods of drought. The researchers found that the subjects who moved more while sitting were considerably less obese than the ones who didn't.

As an aside:

When my brother Jermaine and I were both in elementary skool -- this being around the time when the Nintendo Entertainment System was blowing up the spot and every young boy's dream was completing Zelda or Super Mario Bros. -- and we'd play video games together, Jermaine would always do the spazz leg. I'd ask him, "Jermaine, do you have to go to the bathroom?" because I was worried that he was so wrapped up in our game of Ice Hockey that he'd pee all over our living room floor. "No. Why?" he always asked. I eventually found out that, while it wasn't his initial intention, the epileptic-appendage technique was his way of trying to psyche me out during marathon gaming sessions. It rarely worked.

It can make people nervous, I suppose. Nervous that the person with the jerky leg will

a) wet him/herself

b) hit their opponent over the head with his/her gamepad

And it's annoying as hell. Anyone who tries that ish while engaged in a game of Mortal Kombat with me gets a big-ass eye jammie.

Word.

It has a way of making a person appear to be a human vibrator in a 'me so horny' manner. How could that be bad luck? People keep giving you baek wons afraid you will stop.

I shake one or two legs every single time I sit down. Even when I try to stop, I can't.

I was told that people that shake their legs don't have any money. I'm a teacher, so I figured it's true enough.

I hate it because it gives people the sense you are not comfortable around them.
Also it reminds me of a dog with fleas.

Whooa! Wait there for a second. It's a superstition that shaking a leg brings bad luck, and being a superstition, it's been around for a LONG time. The stuff you listed is certainly bad, and I don't think Koreans, especially educated, newer generations, condone it either. Certainly not everyone does it....... I hope not!

Because it's annoying as hell to sit there and have some person shaking their leg, you see it as this pathetic rhythmic thing that catches your attention, and if you're sitting on the same object (like on the subway seats) you feel it and it's even more annoying. It's only second to these idiots who snap their gum while chewing like a cow
So your average Korean is distracted by the minor movements of my leg yet a library full of koreans or any East Asians was a thing that I would avoid like the plague during university because of.......

the pen flippers. Oh my God!!!! Talk about distractions!

It ends, CT, with returning home one evening after a hard day of work, to find your wife dead, your family dead, your dog dead, and your home desecrated.

Yes, CT, that's where it ends. That's where it ends in this Nation of Filth, where the values we know to be true are turned upside down by a nation of wife-beating soiling savages.

That stuff happens on almost a daily basis, I read about it on this website called Seoul Searching...
