|
|
As they're not answering my phone calls anymore and it looks like my suit with the Labour Board is going nowhere, I guess it's time to give people the heads up on Kang's Language Institute in Bucheon.
It was not the worst place to work for as they paid me on time and generally treated me right.
However when my pyscho ex-girlfriend started calling up the school and threatened to damage their reputation, they tried to fire me on the spot. Unable to find an teacher to start the next day, they made me teach for the next five days. After three days they kicked me out of my apartment, forcing me to go live on a friend's couch while continuing to teach. Then they refused to give me wages owed up that point, totaling about 1.8 million won.
For what it's worth they did give me my release letter without that much hassle.
At this point it looks like I am going to have to give up on that 1.8 million won they owe me. Just have to chalk to up to an experience with teaching in Korea.
If you have an further questions, PM me and I'll send you my email. |

So, you are warning us against having our "psycho girlfriends" calling them up and threatening them?
Most contracts have a clause that could apply to that situation. Why did you go to the labor board? Seems like they were exercising their rights. If they tried to fire you on the spot, wasn't it painfully obvious you may have trouble getting paid?
You should have just left peacefully, seeing as it's basically you that got yourself into this pickle. Why did you continue knowing full well the hammer was falling? They fire you, boot you out of your pad, but you keep going in?
This is the first complaint I have heard of someone complaining because the school was honoring the contract.
Too bad you have a psycho girlfriend...seems she put you out of a decent job.
Not trying to be a bad dude here, but that's the way it looks.
Good luck finding a new job. |

Actually, I've heard stories like this before- crazed Exes I mean.
It's cause to warn about the girl though- not the school. |
