It's True

I had such a blatant one at my previous job (university with a curfew that was eventually taken away).

We lived in a wing of the student dormitory and found out the second night about the rules that no guests were allowed + 11.00 curfew.

None of us had signed on to anything of the sort.

There was a security man paid to be on the door until 11.

He liked to ask a lot of questions about why you were back so late (if you happened to go there after 8pm) and about shoes in the corridor. After 10 he enjoyed sneaking around out the back of our rooms.

One of my male co workers told me he was surprised once, he was hanging around in his room (as you do late at night) and he thought he heard this noisy animal, imagine his surprise when he saw it was Mr Kim.

I always kept my back curtain closed at night after that. Crying or Very sad

I'd never get to asking the second question cause I'd never sign. There are plenty of jobs around and this is not typical, keep hunting ...

exactly, except I would tell them precisely why I would never sign.

In my two contracts there were several items that I either deleted or edited the wording.

Things like 'The school may supply furnishings such as a bed, fridge, stove......' to 'The school will supply'

I was once told that the new teacher would be staying at my apartment the last week of my contract. I just said 'NO' firmly and politely and explained that the apartment is mine until the end of the contract.

For the most part though I give stupid contracts a big NO and look elsewhere.

I think it would be fairly easy to argue that this would apply to lodgings that are not annexed to the business as well.

i'm moving in to a dorm next month.. the room is really quite cool.

1st question i asked.. can my wife stay?

the answer was yes.. however, girls aren't allowed into the male dorm and boys in the girls dorm..

this will make uncomfortable no doubt but anyways..

this might well be the reason that it is allowed
