Wow. It's as if I LIVE IN A MENTAL WARD.

My apartment just shut off the hot water for two weeks for repairs, and the only discount I will get is the 7000 won they save on gas.

Of course I won't spend that money, SINCE I CAN'T USE THE HOT WATER. I have the option of doing that any time during the year.

Of course the rest of the building is taking it up the ass as if there is nothing that can be done. I'm phoning the apartment office everyday.

At least this week cold showers, I mean ice cold, are slightly enjoyable.

Be warned, by this logic, you should pray that there are no problems with the cold water this winter.

There is a certain lack of common sense in this country, and a real tendency to do things the most inefficient and backward way possible.

I just laugh at retarded Korean ideas, behavior, and situations now, somehow it makes it easier.

Just do it Korean country style. Heat up a big old pot of water and slosh it over you in the bathroom. I had to do that for a weekend when I was visiting my gf's grandmother and its annoying but it won't kill ya.

must be nice to have hot water on tap (when it's working that is)..

My inlaws building shuts off hot water from the end of May until Mid-September every year. I hate visiting in summer.

It is lucky timing with this heat. Imagine no hot water in the winter...

Happened to me. Filled up a bunch of pots and pans with water, boiled it up, and there you go. Let's just say I haven't brought myself to be able to cook with those pots ever again.

I once had no hot water for two months as they were replacing the whole central unit with a new one including the tanks that were under ground. I made do with short sharp freezing showers, boiled water and saunas. It wasn't too bad. I once lived for a year on a South Pacific island that never had hot water. My landlord in Sydney also once decided to replace the whole bathroom, and not only did we not have hot water, we had no indoor toilet and had to use a spider infested outdoors one for three weeks.

Get over it. These things happen from time to time, and contrary to lush's weird reasoning, summer is definitely the best time to repair hot water units.

I lived in an apartment complex that had central heat and hot water. They also repaired the system in the summer, but it was only for a week I remember. It sucks... Cold showers are really only good if they are closing in on room temp.

They did that in my building back in 1999. They shut off the hot water for 2 months!

Lucky for me, I go to the public bath everyday...my shower gets very little use but when I did use it it was always a shock of ice cold water.

You have my sympathies. I've had 2-3 days of no hot water, and no water at all. Summertime seems to be the period that they cut into the water supply whenever they want to. Bugger!

There are much worse ways to take showers. Don't feel too bad. It's only for a couple of weeks.
