Hello,
I am looking for a job and would like some help. Anyone know of some schools where teaching hours are relatively light? I have been looking around and most of the jobs I've been finding are in the 30 hours teaching per week category. Seems a bit excessive to me.
Looking to work in Seoul, making 2.0m or more... feel free to PM me if needed. Thanks. |

"30 hours per week" may or may not be accurate. Could mean less in reality. I know there was something like that on my contract but the current reality is far less. I'm teaching 20 hours a week. Then again it could be more. |

My contract says 30 hours too and I'm currently at 14:30.
30 hours is standard in most hagwon contracts. You're going to read a lot of that. I guess you have to find out from the school how much that really means.
For example, I told them at the start that 30 hours was too much. They told me it was never going to be 30, but 25. And that was 25 forty-five minute classes. That's only 18:45 real time.
So the 30 hours on my contract really only ever meant 18:45 max. And it's been going down since. |

Yes, same here. My contract says 30, but I only teach 25, and on Fridays around 20 hours. 30 is pretty standard (for hakwons at least). I've only seen a couple in all my time here that offered less. |
