I'm just wondering whether anyone knows anything about this area just outside of Kwangju. Looks like I'll be teaching at an all-girls middle school there. |

hampyeong is a tiny, tiny, tiny little area south of gwangju and just north of mokpo. it's quite possibly the only place on earth that could host an annual butterfly festival without having any butterflies. i think you're actually closer to mokpo than you are to gwangju, though...but i could be wrong.
are you in the province's language program than? JLP/JCP? |

I have been there a couple of times. There is a beach which is a 15 minute bus ride from the bus terminal. I can't remember the name of it though. It isn't great, but it's very quiet, and relaxing, especially at night. |

Yes, I believe I'm to be the first native speaking clown...errr...teacher at the school. The Korean English teacher wrote that the "mayor of the county" has decided to throw more money into education there to keep all the kiddies from going to school in the big cities. I am going there because of that commitment. |
