That's Boa.

Seems to be as dumb as a stump although she can speak Japanese and gets by in English.

No comparisons were intended. Just stating my view of Boa. I'm sure your Jessica Simpson is plenty stupid, too.

File this one under things I do in Korea that I wouldn't be caught dead doing at home.

I think Sliver's photos made my point. The top pic is not cute. The bottom one is not cute, but it is erotic.

My problem with 'cute' here is that it is so self-conscious. When a little kid does something and everyone laughs, it is cute. When the kid repeats it just to get attention, it is not cute. So much of the cuteness here is of the second variety.

I don't know about others, but I enjoy something spontaneous, unself-conscious and innocent. Cynical calculation to get attention is just not as attractive to me. I don't know why that is.

i understand what ya ta boy means.....especially the women here who try to act cute...i mean, sometimes they try to even change their voices to sound like children and just act....i don't know how to say....just weird. to me, (i'm thinking of the women who work in my hogwan) they are trying so hard to be cute and it's so sad (to me)

spontaneous cute is cute and harder to come by.

as for material things...i have to admit, i have a weakness for cute things....the stationary especially.....why is stationary so boring at home? oh, and i love hello kitty.

I think that the holding up the two fingers for a pic is cheesy! And inmature.
Something children do...but then again....this is korea. And most of the women seem "inmatureish."
It's a monkey see monkey do thing. Young ones learn it from their parents, etc...the cycle will never be broken.

girls talking like babies: usually not cute
girls whining like babies: never cute

As long as Korean guys go for it, we'll have to put up with it though.

Sliver,
What is she wearing (plastic?)? Did you look at those shoes? Her feet do not even seem to fit well in the shoes.
