Just a heads-up if youre into K-music.

Sokcho's putting on a weeklong music festival starting tomorrow evening, kicks off with BoA, se7en, & someone else (sorry, not really up on the names & I dont have a schedule here). There'll be stuff going on afternoons & evenings at 4 different venues. BoA's on a big stage in Expo Park near downtown, they've built a floating stage on the other downtown lake, the stadium on the outskirts will have shows, & they've slotted some folkier stuff for a stage in Mt Seorak Park. There'll be pop, rock, folk, indie, etc -- a lot of top names according to my Korean friends. Everything's free (co-sponsored by Sokcho city hall & MBC, who will be broadcasting portions of it live).

Just a heads-up if you're into K-music (its not all K-pop). It looks like a good event.

Well it would be nice to get back to Sokcho anyway. If the music sucks I can always head for the mountains. Weeklong is 7 days or 9?

And where do you think all the parents of the kiddies are going to be hanging out? Good luck finding a rock to sit on. One of the first things I learned in this country is to do everything the opposite time of the majority of the people. The first or last weekend of the school semester is the best time to go anywhere here.

Groovy...I'm in Gangneung now, enroute to Seoraksan, and have plans to visit Sokcho tomorrow, so maybe we will be able to take it in.
