There was an ad here on Dave's that was supposedly written by the Kangnam Gu Office, advertising positions for public elementary school teachers.
Yesterday, I went for an interview and found that it was actually conducted by the University of Cali~ Riverside, which also advertises for teachers too.

Now, I have seen some posts a long while back, but I couldn't find them, so I might as well ask;

Has anyone ever dealt with or worked for the Univ. of Cali.~ R.S. ?

What kind of rep do they have?

A friend of mine worked for them, and while she enjoyed it, it wouldn't be for everyone. It's a VERY VERY professional environment, and you'd better know your grammar! It's highly structured with very little room for leeway in your teaching.

Quite a few teachers work there, and they DO treat their employees fairly.

It is a very, very professional environment. The curriculum is based on University of California's curriculum, but you do get some leeway in teaching your classes, it's not THAT strict. This is not a hagwon at all, nor is it a hagwon environment. The instructors get treated very well, and the instructors are Kangnam-gu workers, they work for the city. There are some great perks to the job, but there is a lot of paperwork and preparation that needs to be done for your classes. The marks that students recieve go towards their transcripts with the university in California at Riverside so it is taken quite seriously. It is more academic oriented. It's not for everyone, this is true. Being professional is the key at this place.

If it is ran by UC- Riverside then it should be a real teaching program. They are a UC system like UCLA and UC Berkeley, they are just not as well known.
