Rookies,
If you really want o find "dirt" on this school....you will.
No matter how good it is or how nice, if you really look in every nook and cranny, you will find dirt or something you don't like.
Much like, if you walk around glaring at people and looking for a fight, chances are you will eventually find one, even in a pacificts colony.
Morale of the story: you have to know when to accept certain things and then take a chance.
This applies to any job on the face of the planet my man.
Best of luck in your dustbusting ventures. |

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the school to provide you with contact info of current and former teachers that worked there?
Don't be fooled into thinking that this is very big online community considering the scope of the esl industry in Korea. |

| Back off a little- he's trying to get some unbiased info here. Never heard of the school, but in Korea, a -dong is not a city- just a small neighborhood within a city. You'll have a lot more luck if you use the city name. |

I live in Sanbon. I also kinda know some teachers that work at JEL in Sanbon. They tell me it's a pretty good situation. From what i know they always get paid on time. I think apart from the regular hagwon silly stuff they are happy.
Sanbon is pretty nice as well. Small but not too small. Big waygook community, some good food....shopping if your into that.... Close to Anyang, not apart of it though as someone mentioned earlier..it's a part of Gunpo-Si.
Anyway I hope this helps.
p.s i was actually thinking of applying at the same school but I decieded against it cause I am going home. |

That is a good way to look at it Beaver.
I just can't beleive that there is no dirt on this school as it seems every other school I have looked into has its stories of HORROR.
Oh well, maybe someone will share a story or two soon. |
Nah, it all depends. There's like a zillion hogwans here and 100 times as many horror stories. Even if you do find a few bad stories about a given school, you have to take it all with a grain of salt because you don't know the teachers who posted the stories, what their motives were, or even whether the stories are true.
It really is a gamble though. I seem to have gotten lucky, but I could just as easily have wound up in one of those disaster stories you keep reading about.
Good luck!! |
