| excellent result there, donkey. I'll bear your methods in mind. But I'd only use themm in a very similar position, if my contract was over and I had nothing to lose. For lesser hassles, threatening to quit seems to bring good results. |

If she had been a big ol' fat behemoth of a woman it would have been okay>>>>>If it had been a bruiser of a guy and he threatened him in the same way ...and succeeded is that okay or not? Just curious.
If someone smaller than you cheats you out of money or whatever I guess there is no recourse...If some small little Korean or Canadian or American comes up and smacks you up side the head well too bad for you.
I don't think Mr. Donkey was going to pummel this woman or send the goon squad to break her legs....He played a bluffing game and he won. He obviously was being cheated out of a good deal of money....But I guess that is okay well as long as the person is smaller.
ADVICE TIP FOR THE DAY....ONLY WORK FOR PEOPLE BIGGER THAN YOU SO YOU CAN FEEL BETTER IF YOU HAVE TO THREATEN THEM.
(COME ON kids....Mr. Donkey is hardly John Gotti or Tony Soprano lighten up)

Gord,
Consider this; it reflects badly on the Korean legal and labour system if a foreigner has to resort to bluffing and intimidation to get money which is his in the first place!

What physical threats did I use? I simply said I would sell my debts to someone else, then they could deal with them.
How do you know she was smaller than me?
They owed me money, I did what I had to to get it. They brought it upon themselves. If they were honest and paid the debts that they made, all of this would not have been necessary. You make your bed, thats where you'll lie.
And yes, I do have balls the size of a house. Thank you for noticing.
And why all of a sudden is it Mr. Donkey? Keep it to Donkey...My dad is Mr. Donkey, not me! |

What?
Going go the guys house when he's got five friends over and saying you're going to start kicking down doors until you get your money, and boldly stating that you will kick all their collective asses should even one of them make a move to stop the previously mentioned door kicking, then yes, balls the size of a house.
Instead, you threatened a woman. Plus you threatened her after she told you her husband was out of the country. Wow. You're manly, threatening her when she's alone.
Hell, let's roll with this logic. When the owner gets back should he go up to a student that hasn't paid April's tuition yet and say "I'm going to sell your debt Pak So and his large friends, and you'll have to pay them extra or they'll kick your ass unless I have your money today"? Same logic. Or is that wrong because they're not white? |

Peoples is funny, isn't they?
And, fwiw : leaning over someone with fists clenched and face red, bellowing 'I'm going to fsking KILL YOU!' is a threat. (Not that I've ever done such a thing, of course.)
"Mafia chingoo, come get money," is not, in any sense that counts, you big girl's blouse, you.
I might not have handled it the same way that the Donkey did, but kudos to the large-testicled creature nonetheless for taking no sh*t. |

If you think the director was really out of the country you are a fool. It was another delay tactic. What would you have done in my situation Gord? Take another month out of you life and continue to ask for the money he owed you? Or taken it up with the Labor Dept? A year later maybe you will see your cash.
Do things your way and I'll do them mine.
And whats up with this rasict statment? If I ran a hagwon and the parents didnt pay on time their kid wouldnt be in a class.
And yes I do have balls the size of a house. Why you ask. Because I didnt back down to the 6 faced Korean. I took what was mine. If Monday came and went without my money (which was owed to me on March 15th) I would gotten in contact with a mafia guy I know (I plan ahead, so it wasnt just bluffing) He could have done whatever he wanted to get my money. Its funny how the director has the cash to go to China for two weeks but cant pay for my airfare home.
If this happened in the States I would have went in there sooner than I did here and threaten, break and press upon them the urgency to pay their debt to me. Without a problem. And it wouldnt have been the first time.
Gord, glad to see you are the type of person who will bend over at someone's urging. I dont happen to be that type of person. You try bending me over and I am gonna swing for your head.

To the Donkey.
I think you're just lucky that the owner wasn't friends with REAL mafia. Some of these schools have been known to have ties with mafia-like characters.
So you know a mafia guy in Korea? How long, and how did you meet him? Did he just tell you? How did you find out?

Met the guy last August in Hannam Dong. Saw my tats and stuck up a converstaion over our tattoos. (mostly hand signals) Took me out to eat and got drunk with him. Came out with me and my friends a couple of times. I hear from him everyonce in awhile.
Whats BS about that? |

I've just never heard of any REAL mafia guy openly telling someone he's met a couple of times, that he's in the mafia. Most people who are actually in a criminal organization don't go around openly boasting of it. Those that do, generally don't last that long. There are plenty of wanna-be's though, that get their kicks from telling credulous foreigners that they are mafia. How do you know (for a fact) that he is actually in the mafia and not just "pulling your leg."? I'm sorry, but I just can't imagine someone who is in the mafia just telling any stranger tattoos or no tattoos that he's involved in a criminal gang. People who are, tend to be very closed-mouth about that. And there are good reasons for it.
The people who talk about it, are the wanna-be's who want people to think that they are tough. Anyone can claim they are in a gang. Tattoos and tough talk don't mean anything. |
