| Also, aren't these tutors in some of the best universities in the US? Getting admitted into a top US schools shows you are smart enough or wise enough on how to score highly on the college entrance exams. Most ESL teachers here aren't Ivy Leaguers.. |
Then why do I know Koreans with American MBA's that can't even compose a short letter? |

Even Koreans from soso schools here can make 50,000 an hour no prob. My wife won't speak Korean if tutoring and never works for less than that.
All you dumbasses who keep taking these private business jobs from recruiters at 35,000 an hour should be shot and pissed on. Recruiters make a minimum of 70,000 an hour for those jobs. 1 year ago those jobs went for 45 now 35. Why? Because some idiot keeps doing it. Why risk fines and deportation for $10 more an hour than your hogwan pay?

The article says that most of these Korean tutors are currently attending school in the United States. Would a conviction for violating Korean law endanger their U.S. student visas? I don't know for sure, but I'm willing to bet it would. Can somebody with more freetime research this please?
If it would mean risking revocation of their U.S. student visas, then they're running similar risks. |
Assuming that they are violating the law, it's would not be a criminal offense. They would no more lose their student visa for that than they would for getting a parking ticket. |

| That statement where this dude makes 100 million in 2 months and then leaves...I think that's a bunch of bull. He left to do what? He had another job offer that was gonna start him at over $500,000 a year. Gimme a break. Also, 15 million a month seems a bit much. The most I've been able to pull is 7 million, and that's with working my tail off. I've had the 60,000 won an hour jobs that I've assembled myself but you have to realize how many hours X 60,000 won equal 15 mil. That's 250 hours a month at the prized 60,000 an hour. Can you assemble that many? |

My personal best was 8.9 million. I was working about 25 hours a week. If this guy gets 100,000 an hour it takes 150 hours a month not 250 to reach 15,000,000. 100 million in 2 months no way, not teaching. That could include all of there incomes combined perhaps.

Careful. You'll have Yaya in here screaming "Yes it is possible! I know teachers who make that much. blah, blah, blah." |

Sad to say, but many Koreans would love to get deported from Korea. |
