hello I have a holiday working visa and a degree and I arrive in Seoul on Thursday the 12th with no commitment and maximum flexibility. Any advice on the job hunt? What should be the first moves conducted, I'm staying in a backpackers the first couple of nights?Would love some suggestions..... [email protected]

People with holiday working visas are a rare breed here. The language school system is largely geared to one-year contracts but you'll be limited to 3-month stints -- might be a hard sell. You'll probably be just late for the english summer camp season but going school-to-school you might find some temp work.

You could also try advertising yourself on the job wanted board here (or elsewhere). If your visa permits private tutoring you'd be laughing, but I doubt it does. One potential advantage you might have is being able to sample different work environments & if you found one you really liked, I presume you could do a visa run & change your visa status to E2 if you chose to do so.

Youre somewhat on new ground with this one -- let us know how it goes. Best of luck.

You have a degree so it's no problem...the WH visa is (nearly) useless without it. It's pretty much the same as an E2 except that technically you're not supposed to work too much, but since you own it it doesn't disappear if you quit, as far as I know. I lived on one for a year.
