I overheard from an actor friend that a few, or possibly several foreigners got busted for "illegally acting" on a TV show called, "Bol-say"... apparently it's the most popular Korean TV drama.

I think this is old news.... maybe 1 month or more, but wanted to pass it along.

Not sure what happened to everyone, but I heard that some people got fined at least 1 million won.

Yes, you need an immigrations approval addition on your E-2 for each additional project you do. You have to fill out a paper at immigrations. That is how I understand it, anyway.

IMHO most of the acting on TV is pretty bad and should be punished.

FINALLY! Someone gets the jokes's abouts IMMIGRATIONS!!!

I don't know who got busted. I heard it from a guy who got busted, but claims to have an "out" because he knows some people in the Ministry of Justice. He said others got busted, and an actor-friend confirmed this.

I don't know any specific names.

I remember getting told at immigration that I wasn't allowed to go on tv any more and that if I did I would get busted...it's okay if one's not making any money. The incident raised further questions in my mind about the uses of a Working Holiday Visa for people in Korea:
-Can't teach English
-Can't write for newspapers
-Can't go on tv

What's it for???
