|
|
Hello-
I'm currently taking a beginning intensive Korean class (in the States) and have been trying to do a lot of reading and listening to Korean music to learn faster (I know a lot of Chinese and Japanese, and that does help). I have seen some Korean movies but they're hard to find. We are watching a Korean drama in class (but only bits and pieces due to time constraints): Sweet 18. Of course it's completely over-the-top as most soap operas are, but it's amusing and seems like a good language-learning tool. Can anyone recommend a drama that's good for language-learning that I could buy on YesAsia.com? I am hoping to find one of the DVD sets that is not TOO expensive....
Thanks for your input! |

i would say look for 'full house'...but that's only cuz i'm partial to the main character and i want him to have my babies |

historical dramas have dialects that are irrevalent to every day korean conversation. avoid historical dramas such as dae jang gum as it might only confuse you. full house, lovers in paris, and much hyped "winter sonata" are better choices |

You can download Dae Jang Gum from E-Donkey, or buy it here:

Can't say how good it is for learning Korean though, and there are no subtitles. Harri2002 has a good point for sure, but damn- that drama is a sensuous feast for the eyes and ears- I'd give it a shot anyway. |

is really the BEST DRAMA you'll find. I've seen quite a few but everything about this drama is head and shoulders above the rest. it is viewable via internet as is the script. the script can also be downloaded at various DAUM cafe sites. |
