Would or do you use Korean squat toilets? |
I would only use one if the option was fouling my pants. |

My only preference in toilets is that they be clean and non-smelly. |

When my knees were younger I would have used them, but not now. |

I voted for clean and non-smelly. However, my experience has always been that the odor is greatest where squat toilets are installed. I don't know if that's because of the toilet itself, or just that older buildings had worse plumbing. |

I'm always afraid I'll lose my balance and fall or accidentally splash something on my shoes.
I keep a mental note of every nice bathroom that I find in every neighborhood. Department stores and Starbucks are usually my favorites. |

For number one, I'll pee in anything.
For number two, I was only that desperate once, and I learned the hard way that I just don't have the flexibility to use a squatty. |

With practice it's a good quad workout. |

In general for the longer legged foreigners the squat toilets can be a bit difficult for number 2 purposes, however, since public bathrooms (even in Starbucks) are always suspect (maybe my mother trained me too well that there are unseen lurking germs), in a public place I'd much rather use a squatter... in a place where the squatter is noticeably dirty, if they have a seat toilet as well, it's usually not a whit cleaner or less smelly. And having a small bladder, waiting and looking for another is NOT a practical option. |

squatters aren't that bad. just make sure you tuck your pant bottoms into your socks while you're squatting, or your pants are bound to get some mank on them. i'd rather use a squatter than sit my ass down on a toilet that someone else before me may or may not have been conscientious about keeping free of their bodily fluids. |

I have had that same one, miserable experience. I lost a lot of self-respect that day. |

i'll say this again...
i have never nor anybody i know has been sick from sitting on any toilet seat...
the problem is all in your minds..
if there is something on the seat just wipe it off.. simple enough
we are living in a modern world.. i think only 3rd world people and animals still feel the need to to avoid the ol seat. |

Good to see a toilet humour thread. Everybody's stock has just gone up in my book .
Why I dislike squat toilets: Caucasions, as a matter of anatomical fact, tend to find it more difficult to do a flat-footed squat. Consequently, the impact of the doogie will have greater force owing to the higher elevation of the departure point, i.e hazardous splash factor.
This didn't bother me so much when I lived in Indonesia, as I was more concerned about spider bites in the nether-regions, and rats making guerilla incursions through the drain pipes. |
