Man, I hate the Emart between Sunae and Migeum stations. You've got to go through a cash register on each floor (except the basement), which means if you want to buy some food, a shirt, and an alarm clock, you've got to stand in line 3 times. It'd be sweet if the lines were all short due to this, but that's usually not the case. Moreover, the store is poorly organized and I always end up having to go back to the first floor to buy something that should be on the third floor and stand in the long-ass lines down there for a damn screwdriver that happens to be next to the cleaning items.
Not to mention the lack of a taxi stand.
Are there any better stores near Sunae? Kim's Club at Seohyun bites worse than Emart. |

Carrefour at Ori?
Wal-Mart in Guseong (over the hill past Suji/Jukcheon)?
I used to go shopping in those two places... |

Yeah, E Mart in Bundang bites, but I prefer shopping there to the one in Suji. Sure, you can shop on all three floors at Suji, but all this means is that everytime I want to buy one damn thing there is always a cart full of groceries in front of me. They never have more than two registers open. At least in Bundang I can get out quickly on the second and third floors. Carrefore in Yatap is a little better, but I really hate the gauntlet of men selling shavers I have to run just to cross the street to go up four flights of stairs to push my way through just to enter the store.
Maybe I am just not a shopper. |

Carrefore is pretty good. I like to shop there, and I almost always run into my students, since it's not far from my school.
There's a CGV movie theater in the same building. |

So what do I do? Just get in the taxi and name the store and get magically whisked there? That's what I do with Emart...I don't know Bundang very well yet. Need my steed. |

If you're going to Carrefour then it's right outside Ori station. There must be some local buses that run there... 720-2 should go past it (or very near it), as do the 'expensive' buses 2002, 2002-1 and 6006.
Someone else can help with better buses... |

Don't forget the LG mart(?) at Sunae Station.
I'd also like to know where the Suji E-mart is. Is that place new?
About 1.5 years ago I just new of the Wal-Mart. Just a 2500won taxi ride from Pungdukchon-dong. |

Just so there is no confusion, there is a Carrefour at Yatap, and another at Ori.
PS - I like E-mart, 'cause they got pets. Makes the little girl happy. Both little girls, actually.

Zyzyfer,
Get on the subway at Sunae (outside your palace ) and ride 3 stops to the end of the line at Ori. Carrefour is right there.
It's a step up from Jeonja E-mart because all the shopping is on one floor. Jeonja E-mart was really starting to boil my head just before I left. The 3 floor thing is really stupid and is based on them saving money and not your convenience.
The wine selection is great at Ori Carrefour. The imported food stuff is expensive but it's there.
I buy almost all my clothes at Carrefour.
It beats E-mart on every count.
Also, across the street from Ori Carrefour is a covered market which is much cheaper for fruit and veg than any supermarket in Bundang. Stock up on your luxury items (potatoes, apples, oranges) there. |
