just thought I'd inform ya.....

There are opportunities to get out and play with other people. There's a blues jam on Mondays at the Big Electric Cat in Itaewon. Also, there's an open mic there on Tuesdays, which often lets people get together and jam.

If you're tired of entertaining your walls (and neighbors), come out and play!

This has been added as my next thing to do. As I've only been to Itaewon a couple times and have a horrible memory of places I see, where exactly is the Electric Cat?

Thanks for the post.

the Big (Electric) Cat is behind the Hamilton Hotel (Itaewon Station Exit #1). Next to KFC is an alley. Go up the alley then hang a left. The Cat will be on your left (downstairs). Both the Blues Jam and the open mic start up around 10.

Cheers

oh...and one more thing I should add:

there's a drumset and all the necessary equipment there. Just bring out your instrument (bass players, you know I'm talkin to you). Hope to see ya there!

to my knowledge, the only open mic on weekends is at Woodstock's in Itaewon, which is the first and third Sunday of each month (7:30 start time). It's not bad, though you generally only get 3 songs, and even though there's a drumset and amps there, the house band doesn't let other people use them.

Texas Moon (Gangnam or Apkujeong?? it's near the Hard Rock Cafe), has a great set up as well. I believe it is an open jam 7 days a week, but I haven't been there in a long time. Lots of house guitars, bass's and drums hung on the walls for open use. The owner is a good guy, and some very skilled musicians hang out there.

Check it out.

H.M.
