|
|
next weekend i wanna do a trip that would ideally go like this:
ktx from seoul to kwangju, bus to boseong to see the tea farm, bus to yeosu for the night and sunday, bus back to kwangju, ktx back to seoul
is that doable? are the buses efficient enough that i could do that? is there a better way to do it? |

Sure, go for it.
Last week, starting on Tuesday, I went from Icheon -> Daejon -> Busan -> Pohang -> Kyeongju -> Seoul ->Icheon.
Arrived back in Icheon on Friday morning. |

I don't think you could do it.
Sure getting to Gwangju and then Boseong is feasible but getting to Yeosu might be a little hard.
Also you are in such a rush you wouldn't get to just chill out which is half the fun of travelling.
You could probably do it but it wouldn't be too much fun. |

ya thats what im thinking now too. i was just looking at a tourist website and it appears that a weekend in the yeosu area would be plenty. lots of beautiful beaches. |

I don't think there would be a direct bus, you might have to backtrack to Gwangju |

busses run from gwang ju to boseong every 90 minutes after 6am until 9pm..
and next saturday, for example, you could jump the 6pm train from boseong to arrive at yeosu at 8pm..
there are many ways to do it.. even shell out 30,000 for a taxi from boseong to suncheon to get to the suncheon terminal that will have busses running to yeosu often..
korea is a tiny country.. it is easy to get around here |

boseong is only a small joint and not really my cup of tea..
it is only famous for the tea garden and i believe it has little else to offer, maybe jirisan..
here is a link if it helps http://www.knto.or.kr/eng/hallyu/greentea.html |

Well, you COULD do it, but why would you want to? I spent 2 days Kwongju and that was not enough, it is an awesome place. You can do tht trip, but you need longer to see the beauty of the places. Why not do that trip on Chosok? |

Totally feasible...
If you planned on leaving on a Friday evening (or early night) from Seoul, you could be in Gwangju at a reasonable time and stay over there, but even if you left early Saturday morning from Seoul, you could be in Boseong by early afternoon.
Now, I'm not sure Boseong has a bus to Yeosu, so if not, just take the bus to the next city eastward, Suncheon. From Suncheon it's right to Yeosu.
I think you can see Boseong fast enough and then be in Yeosu by late afternoon.
One recommendation for you: Sunday morning, watch the sunrise at Hyanggiram (Hyanggil Hermitage).
Of course, there's a direct bus right back to Gwangju, less than three hours I believe. Enjoy! |
