The first rule of "Fight Club" is you don't talk about "Fight Club".

I am going to explain this to you, although I souldnt bother wasting my time:

When I met this cat last year I noticed his crappy hand tattoos (prison tats) When he came out with us, he hung out mostly with my Korean friend talking to him. Later on that night my Korean friend informed us he was in a gang. I took his word for it. He also said through my friend that if I ever needed anything in Korea that he would help me out. Maybe he isnt mobbed up, maybe he is. I have no idea if he told my buddy he was mobbed up, implied it, or if my friend came to that conclusion.

And I never said having tattoos makes you tough, I have no idea where you pulled that from. (its funny though, because I had that same conversation with a Korean guy who showed me his tats and then told me he was tough. Then he grabbed my friends breast and I kicked his ass.)

Donk - you don't have to explain yourself to nerds who don't understand. You got a job done and I'm pleased for you.

He was lucky. I'm happy for him too. However I just don't want people to think this is the way to handle stuff like this. If I had been the school owner and anybody had tried this on me, I would have told him to come back in one hour and I would have the money for him. When he showed up, the cops would be there. Let's see, I would have got him on about three different charges, each in itself a deportation from Korea. Extortion, threats of violence, and association with criminal elements. Not to mention if the school owner had felt vindictive, she could have made up about half-a-dozen other lies.

As for the Donkey, okay that's cool. I just wondered how come you knew he was in a gang. I appreciate the explanation. I own you an apology for the B.S remark. Consider this it.

Urban Myth,

I don't want to fan the flames here, but....

What you posted just goes to prove that the system is in favour of Koreans. Sometimes, foreigners have no choice but to be...how shall I say... creative!

Good on the Donkey!!!

Ok,

I'm not big on violence or even threat of violence but desperate times call for desperate measures...

But good on donkey for getting the money he was owed, he won a small victory against the numerous teachers who have been ripped off by hagwon owners here...

*stands up and gives donkey a standing ovation*

Good luck with your future travels donkey

The Donkey is my new hero. Caption Oblivious/Gord, wanker.

What I wouldn't do to have the mafia really break the legs of my old hagweon boss - Kim DohKyoung of St. Paul Academy in Daegu. I'll try the legal method first, but love your work, Donkey.

Nado. An excellent tale, it's good to hear a story where the victim of a lying piece of crap is given their money. Funny story.

Nice one donkey Laughing
