I dont know if this has been brought up before.

But I ran into two turkey guys today who run a Kebab little stand outside kings club.

3000 won for a chicken kebab.. IT WAS HEAVEN. Just to make things clear. I am saying Kebab in the sense of it being rolled up in Pita bread and devoured like a Madman. Not a meat on a stick kinda thing!

Oh and their Yogurt sauce.

MMMMMmmmmMMMmm. I am so happy that I am living in Itaewon!

I'm still looking out in Seoul for the Holy Grail of kebabs. British-style donor kebabs!! They're amazing.

I went to the Gyros in Sincheon (Jamsil) and it was so terrible I nearly cried. Crying or Very sad

I wouldnt say the guy would make a fortune,, but for a middle eastern guy it would be a good income.. teaching you would still make more if you did 50 hours..

now the kebabs.. yeah they are the best ive had in korea,,
the guys go bar to bar on weekends.. I caught one in the loft at about 1 am saturday night.. I have heard he has a stand outside kings or a van.

anyway its good to know there is a place to go for a snack..

emmm still if your with a chick you gonna take her to a van for a snack?
or down fish alley for some soju and korean grab??

kebabs snacks!! and bloody good ones at that..
hooray for Kebabs finally coming to Itaewon...

The guys are usually there on Friday and Saturday nights.

Also, I believe they might be a part (can't call them a branch as they are on the street) of a Kebab place that I saw in Myeong Dong. I didnt go inside to eat there, but their was a bunch of Turkish guys there and it was plain it was
a Kebab place. If you want to find this place, when you exit Myeong Dong station, thing of the main road and it having a right and left area (not righ on the road but like two halves). It is in the right half.

Edit: Just read this again....The place in Myeong Dong is an actual restaurant type place.

Sure, all the time. The Halal stores in Itaewon always have it. Barbecue it with mint sauce. Yum. Finding mint sauce is trickier. I have seen Koreans eating lamb in Muslim restaurants, they make a big deal of it but some of them seem to like it. I have had lamb barbecues with Koreans, they liked the lamb-burgers. Well, some of them.

You can get homous made with Tahini in Itaewon at Ali Baba's, Petra's or Salam. I think I have seen it in the kitchens of a few friends as well. It's out there somewhere.

Something doner-ish kebabs in Hongdae, just by the little park near uni gates and at Gangnam station as well. Exit 7, walk straight, follow your nose.

Turkish resturant near mosque in Itaewon (Salaam), if you can force yourself to go near the mosque next time you're in Seoul Wylde Wink Thick succulent slabs of lamb on a skewer, cooked to your taste. Some wonderful images of Mecca in the restaurant too, for you to enjoy while you're eating.

I saw a guy on TV several years ago who did just that. He was always near the turkish embassy during lunch time.

I am glad all you guys love the "KEBAB".... Can't imagine living without it... I am from Istanbul and I crave for some good real Iskender Kebab with yogurt and butter tomato sauce on warm pita bread!!! Yum!! If I had enough money, I'd open a restaurant in the middle of Kangnam and spread all over Korea!!!!

Cheers!!! Smile
