Define late, how late is late? A day...no big whoop. A week Mad jugalay.

If I was ever paid late and they told me next week I would tell them that I would return to school when they paid me in full. I would also contact the labour board asap and document it. There is no good reason for a school not to pay their teachers on time.

Just a quick heads up on the public school thing- I'd imagine most are filled, cause school opens after vacation next week, or the week after and there's generally a few days orientation, and to get used to the curriculum.

As well, don't look at it as a haven from hagwon insanity. I've had discussions with my vice pricipal that would put anything at a hagwon to shame. ( ie. " I need electricity to teach, and yeah, having the water turned on at school would be nice too" for a summer program).

Being paid late is a sign of better things to come!!!! Maybe no severance, no airfare, etc.!!

I've said it before...I'll say it again....

A public school gig does NOT guarantee that you will always be paid on time. I'm in the public system(have been for 2 yrs.) & have been paid late 4 times. Moreover, I'm in a titanic struggle to get back pay owed-5 1/2 million big ones.

You've been warned....

It does depend on the time period and how often it happens.

In my 2.5 years of working here I was paid late 3 times by about a week but it was always explained to me why so i was happy and they came through no probs.

However, any later than that without a good explination and I would be not going to work until the money was in my bank account.
