I've searched a bit, and I haven't found any thread talking about better places to go than Itaewon for finer tobacco products like cigars and pipe tobacco.
Any place better (read: cheaper)? |

good luck...
if you find a place, let me know. i did a pretty hard search when i first got here two years and some change ago. not a lot in the way of cigars... unless you want reasonably priced garbage (king edwards) or really expensive nice cuban cigars.
back home i smoked a brand called (don't laugh) 'ram rods' (oh hell, laugh if you want to). they ran about a US dollar a piece, and they looked like the kind of cigars clint eastwood smoked in 'the good, the bad, and the ugly'. but more importantly, they taste really good. this time when i came back, i brought six boxes of them with me. that lasted me about five months, and then i decided to start smoking cigarettes to supplement them. i hope i'll be able to switch back again next time i go home, as i've grown terribly fond of cigarettes.
anyway... no ram rods in korea. you're better off having someone post them to you from home if you can. good luck. |

Ramrods... now that is funny!
I think this is going to trigger the swear filter, but tobaccos used to have some pretty wild names. My great-grandfather used to smoke, "Niggerhair" brand tobacco. It was a popular brand in the 1920s. They changed the name to "Bigger Hair" in the 1930s, due to racist uproar.
By the way, if anyone gets offended by this, they need to chill out. We need to study history and learn from it, or we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. This post is made for historical human-interest reasons. |

| What about smokeless tobacco? Can I find it anywhere in Seoul? I can't remember seeing it last time there. Skoal or Copenhagen? |

One idea:
http://www.cigarsclub.com
Many places deliver to korea also, search the WEB. When I order on line, I get the cigars in about 6 days.

| Hannam market has a decent cigar case. i just finished off a pack of panter cigarellos there. I found though when I went to the bars in iteawon they mostly said "no cigar or pipe smoke please". |

| One of the Grand Hyatt Hotel main floor shops sells a good range of cigars, and possibly pipe tobacco. |
